Sher Fertility Institute New York is pleased to introduce our “Facts, Myths & Education” series to our social media venue. What is this you ask? Well, it is various pieces of educational tidbits from our physicians on fertility that come up commonly with patients that are searching for additional information and asking us a wide variety of questions. We wanted to answer as many of your inquires as possible in a fun and informative fashion. We have separated topics into “Fact” and “Myths” and “Education”. We hope you find these informative and insightful. You will be seeing many of these posts in the upcoming weeks and months ahead. 2/19/2020 – Fertility Myth by Dr. Dicken – MYTH – You should not exercise when trying to conceive. TRUTH: Living a well-balanced and healthy lifestyle is important when trying to conceive. There may be times during the course of fertility treatment that your doctor will limit your activity, but in general being active is helpful.
2/26/2020 – Fertility Fact by Dr. Oehninger -Infertility is NOT an inconvenience; it is a disease of the reproductive system that impairs the body’s ability to perform the basic function of reproduction.
2/27/2020 – Fertility Education by Dr. Tortoriello – In natural reproduction, it appears the egg and its surrounding cells secrete chemicals akin to pheromones that help guide sperm to it. This process is called chemotaxis.
