Despite their best intentions, people often don’t know quite what to say to a friend who’s TTC. They’re curious, but don’t want to be invasive. They want to offer support, but not come across as glib. It’s a sensitive subject, and one that’s potentially filled with conversational landmines.
Many times, we speak to our female patients and they ask us what symptoms they should be aware of that can commonly be associated with infertility.
If conception does not happen after a year come and see us. If you are 35 years old or older, then you should seek consultation after six months of trying.
“I have heard that tight underwear on men and also being in hot spas cause infertility in men – is this true?”
Look around you…one-in-eight couples struggle with infertility. Talking to those in our lives should come as a comfort, but here is still some sense of stigma surrounding the topic even though great strides have been made to normalize and support the cause.
